This project consisted of installing approximately 2,820 ft of 20-inch and 1,500 ft 24-inch fusible C905 PVC pipe from the Wailuku – Kahului Wastewater Facility to the Kahului Pump Station. The project area was in a heavy industrial area on Amala Place, within 100 yards from the shoreline. Besides drilling in shallow brackish water table, the ground consisted of hard coral limestone and sand. We utilized our Vermeer 100,000lb drilling rig for this project.
Wailuku/Kahului Force Main Replacement - Kahului, Maui
Alamaha Force Main Replacement – Kahului, Maui
This project, located in the main industrial area of Kahului, involved the replacement of the existing 8” force main along Alamaha St. with approximately 1,575 feet of 10” fusible C900 PVC with a portion of the force main crossing under the canal.
Replace Sewer Force Main - Schofield Army Base, Kunia, Oahu
The NAVFAC project at Schofield Barracks required replacing 960 ft 6” sewer force main utilizing HDD from the pedestrian path area, parallel to Kunia Rd, down the ravine crossing Waikele Stream to the parking lot near the existing sewage pump station.
Emergency Waterline Repair at Hanalei River - Hanalei, Kaua’i
The Kaua’i Department of Water’s existing 8” mainline that crosses Hanalei River was damaged by heavy rains and flooding. Under the Hanalei River at a depth of 18 feet, an emergency water line repair was required and HPT drilled and installed 400 LF of 12” fusible C900 sleeve crossing. The condition of the surface there consisted of brackish water, limestone, gravel and sand.
Emergency Waterline Repair at Moalepe Stream - Kapahi, Kaua’i
The same heavy rains and flooding damaged another Kaua'i Department of Water 8" main line. This waterline crosses the Moalepe Stream located up in the remote Makaleha mountains. An HDD installation of 250 LF of 12" fusible C900 sleeve crossing under the Moalepe stream was completed. Drilling through the unstable hard dense blue rocks and boulders with its constant shifting made it a challenge and tough bore for the Emergency Waterline Repair at Molepe Stream.
Kaua’i Lagoons Waterline - Lihue, Kaua'i
Crossing the lagoon for the development of the Ritz-Carlton residences at Kauai Lagoon, there was an HDD water line installation of 350 ft of 12 inch fusible C900 pipe. The depth of the bore was 25 feet – 15 feet below the lagoon bed.
Kaua’i Lagoons Utility Lines- Lihue, Kaua'i
This project consisted of four HDD crossings each at 350 ft in length crossing the Kauai Lagoons for the development of the Ritz-Carlton Residences. The depth of the bore was 25 feet – 15 feet below the lagoon bed.
Septic Upgrade for Poipu Crater Resort - Poipu, Kaua’i
In the heart of Po’ipu, a 30 unit privately owned condominium complex required a cesspool to septic system upgrade. Consisting 16 fiberglass septic tanks, we converted majority of the cesspools to concrete-lined seepage pits and, in turn, abandoning the remaining cesspools and installing leach fields.
The President of Po’ipu Crater AOAO, John Ferrante stated that, “The owners and other on-site personnel gave extremely positive feedback and comments. He went on to say amongst other positive feedback that HPT performed above and beyond our expectations and completed the project to our satisfaction."
Lahainaluna Gravity Sewer Line Project – Lahaina, Maui
This project required the HDD installation of 14” HDPE gravity sewer line through solid blue rock on Maui’s Lahainaluna High School campus.
Makena Bay Club – Makena, Maui
This project at Makena Bay at Maluaka required installing sewer, electrical and telephone lines under a historical path in the area.
Kapa’a Bypass Project- Kapa'a, Kaua'i
Utilizing a 34” beaver tail reamer, this project required a HDD installation of a 30” HDPE drain pipe crossing through an embankment under the Kapa’a Bypass Road.
DHHL Anahola Scattered Lots Project- Anahola, Kaua'i
Comprised of an ESIS Model 1300 aerobic unit with concrete reinforcements and absorption beds with infiltrator chambers, we performed the installation of individual waste water systems for nine departments of Hawaiian Home Land Anahola lots.
Hanalei Watershed Hui IWS Project - Hanalei, Kaua'i
Several septic upgrades were made on the Hanalei National Wildlife Refuge. Here existing cesspools were replaced with new septic systems to improve water quality in the Hanalei River and Hanalei Bay.

Waipouli Traffic Signal Light Project - Kapa'a, Kaua'i
At the intersection of Kuhio Highway and Kauai Village Shopping Center in Kaua'i, HI, we performed a 330 foot horizontal directional drilling installation of four 2” electrical conduits and a traffic signal upgrade for Waipoli Resort. In using HDD and our trenchless services, it was possible to avoid the disruption in areas such as this where bumper to bumper traffic is common.
Nawiliwili Rd Traffic Signal Light Project- Lihue, Kaua'i
Here we performed a 450 foot HDD installation of two 2” electrical conduits for a traffic signal light at Nawiliwili Rd and Pikake St. Also another 400 HDD installation of two 2” electrical conduits for a traffic signal light at Nawiliwili Rd and Haleko Rd. Here motorists were able to go about their daily routine without being interrupted by on-going construction.
Kaumuali’i Hwy and Nawiliwili St Lighting Project - Lihue, Kaua'i
Here four separate intersection crossings with 50 foot to 200 foot bores of 3” electrical conduits were installed for a street light upgrade.
